Low Sugar: Why You Should Care

So, how do we make something


At Enlightened, we pride ourselves on the low sugar content of our snacks. We believe healthy snacks should be both delicious and GOOD for you.

What we don’t do is make a snack loaded with artificial ingredients and sweeteners. Instead, we take something delicious, raise the protein, and lower the calories, fat, and sugar. That’s why we’re the GOOD-FOR-YOU CRISP and GOOD-FOR-YOU ICE CREAM. Sugar, especially added sugars in particular, are known to have harmful effects on our health. When consumption is excessive for too long, serious consequences like obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and other life-impacting complications can occur (Authority Nutrition). Similarly, artificial sweeteners can also have negative affects on our health, which is why we never use artificial sweeteners in our products. By keeping sugar content to a minimum and using Erythritol, a natural sugar alcohol to sweeten our Ice Cream, we have drastically lowered the sugar content of our products. As a result, Enlightened Ice Cream bars and sandwiches contain between 2 and 5 grams of sugar, and Enlightened Crisps contain either no sugar or only 1 gram!
