Typically, when you think "burger," you think beef+veggies+bread, but we're here to tell you: BBQ Sauce Bean Burgers are incredible.

We are huge fans of savory dishes, and this BBQ Bean Burger patty delivers! It's got such a bold, bright flavor you would never guess it was so healthy, and mixed with your favorite BBQ sauce, this healthy recipe is sure to kick your summer cook-out up a few notches!

BBQ Crisps with Bean Burgers on Tray

Combining ENLIGHTENED Mesquite BBQ Crisps with chickpeas and quick cooking oats creates an incredible crispy but tender texture. We like to use coconut oil to grease the pan to keep things healthy, and of course season perfectly with salt and pepper.

BBQ Crisps and Bean Burger Patty on plate When it comes to creating a burger patty bursting with bright flavor, nothing beats this healthy recipe, and once it hits the plate we recommend another healthy drizzle of BBQ Sauce!

Ingredients

● 1- 15oz. can chickpeas ● 1 oz. ENLIGHTENED Mesquite BBQ Crisps ● ¼ cup quick cooking oats ● 1 egg ● 1 tbsp. BBQ sauce ● Pinch of salt ● Pinch of pepper ● Coconut oil, for greasing

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375° F. 2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil greased with coconut oil. 3. Add the chickpeas to a bowl and mash them as best you can with a fork (some will stay whole and that’s totally fine.) 4. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix with the chickpeas. 5. Form the batter into small patties and place on the greased foil, ensuring that they're not touching. 6. Bake 9 minutes, then flip them over and bake an additional 3 minutes. 7. Tip: you can also broil the patties to get them extra crispy - but you only need to do it for a minute or two, so watch them carefully! 8. Serve with extra BBQ sauce for dipping and enjoy!
